THERAPY FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS IN MADISON, WISCONSIN
Strong Roots. Room to grow.
A gentle way to begin, wherever you are.
You may know exactly what brings you here, or you may still be finding the words. Whether you’re looking for support for yourself or someone you care about, we can begin with what feels most important right now.
I'm Jyotsna, a Licensed Professional Counselor on Madison's west side. I offer play therapy for children and individual counseling for adults.
How I can help.
Play Therapy for Children
When you’re worried about your child and aren’t sure how to help.
Children don’t always have the words for what they’re feeling, and talking isn’t always the easiest way to sort through something hard. Play gives children another way to express themselves and work through difficult feelings and experiences.
You’re part of this too. I meet with you along the way to understand what you’re noticing at home and to support the bond you already share.
Individual Counseling for Adults
For the parts of your life that need attention, too.
Maybe you've been holding it together for a long time, through anxiety, burnout, grief or relationships that have grown harder.
We can take time to understand what's been weighing on you and how your experiences have shaped the way you move through life today. Some things may be ready to change. Others may be more complicated, or outside your control.
I'm interested in what matters to you, not in assuming how your life should look.
Trauma Therapy
Making sense of experiences still affecting you.
Some experiences continue to affect you long after they've ended, sometimes in moments that don't seem connected to what happened. I offer Narrative Exposure Therapy, a structured approach that helps you work through traumatic experiences within the larger story of your life. Sessions can be scheduled for 90 minutes, giving us additional time for this work.

One of the things I value most about this work is getting to know someone beyond whatever brought them into my office. I'm interested in how you've come to understand yourself, the expectations you've lived with, and what you might be questioning at this point in your life.
I want our conversations to feel like something we're doing together. I'll take time to understand your perspective and share my thoughts when they might be useful. If something I say doesn't quite fit your experience, I want to know that, too.
To me, therapy is a relationship where we can be curious together, with room for your own judgment about what matters and what feels right.
Let’s see whether working together feels right.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can talk briefly about what you're looking for and how I might be able to help.
You don't need to share your whole story during this call. It's an opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of how working together might feel.
Root & Branch is a private pay practice. You can review my fees before deciding whether you'd like to schedule a consultation.
Sessions are available in person on Madison's west side, with online adult counseling available throughout Wisconsin.
